India on Tuesday (May 09) continued a sharp dip in covid-19 cases in 24 hours with 1,327 cases, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The active covid case load, according to the daily released data, has also decreased to 22,742. The ministry data says the recovery rate is at 98.97 percent.
According to the data, the covid death toll has, however, increased to 5,31,707 with 11 new fatalities recorded in a day, including two deaths each from Rajasthan. Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab, Odisha and Uttarakhand also recorded one fatality each. The health ministry says the fatality rate stands at 1.19 per cent.
The daily positivity rate, according to the ministry data, is 3.52 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 5.42 per cent with the total number of those who recuperated from the disease reaching 44,418,351.
