PCOS- POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME

PCOS is one of the prevalent women’s health disorders at the present moment. It is a condition where the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens (male sex organs) that are usually present in women in small amounts resulting in numerous cyst formations on the ovary which causes hormonal imbalance, disturbances in ovulation, irregular periods, unwanted hair growth, thyroid, and obesity.

PCOS cannot be cured completely but it can be treated by modifications in our lifestyle such as-

  1. Regulated diet- small frequent meals, more of fruits and vegetables, protein-rich food, avoid oily and junk food, dairy products in optimum amount, food rich in antioxidants e.g dry fruits, seeds etc.
  2. Proper exercise
