An old man who was earlier diagnosed with a tumor in his anus got operated successfully at Sai Institute Of Gastroenterology.
Notably, the man was previously diagnosed with a tumor in his anus. Later a pathologist detected the tumor as Villous Adenoma. The tumor was of 10 cm in size. Risk of malignancy is especially high up to 50% when greater than 2 cm in size.
Dr Sonmoon Mohapatra who has joined Sai Institute recently decided to operate the tumor with advance endoscopy procedure. The all new speed boat knife was used to operate the tomor.
With a total of eight long hours of surgery Dr Mohapatra with the help of renowned gastroenterologist Dr Ashutosh Mohapatra, anaesthesist Dr Santanu Dash, Dr Sumit Agarwal and other crew members removed the tumor successfully.
According to Dr Ashutosh, “It is a rare endoscopic surgery and Sai Institute has successfully done it with the determination of our expert doctors”.
Dr Ashutosh Mohapatra who is the founder of Sai Institute is a known face in the field of gastroenterology. He has done his research in advance endoscopy imaging from International Cancer Centre in Osaka, Japan and National Centre in Tokyo.
Notably, Dr Sonmoon Mohapatra has speacialized in advance endoscopy from world’s finest institute Mayo Clinic. She has recently joined Sai Institute of Gastroenterology which is based in Bhubaneswar.
