Manipal Hospitals in Bhubaneswar introduced Adult Immunization Clinic in partnership with Pfizer Ltd. This initiative underscores the hospital’s commitment to comprehensive healthcare by focusing on preventive measures for adults.
The event began with opening remarks from Hospital Director Dr. Saktimaya Mohapatra. “Vaccination can bolster the immune response, safeguarding adults and the elderly from potentially life-threatening illnesses,” he said. “Promoting adult vaccination not only prevents diseases and improves health outcomes but also enhances economic development and social well-being. At Manipal Hospital, Bhubaneswar, we have established an ‘Adult Immunization Clinic’ to provide this essential service to our community,” he added.
Following this, associate Consultant-Infectious Disease Dr. Subhashree Samantaray explained the importance of adult immunization, emphasizing pneumococcal vaccination.
Senior Consultant in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Dr. Sarat Kumar Behera emphasised the necessity of immunization for patients with chronic lung conditions. Renowned Gynaecologist Dr. Harpreet Kaur discussed vaccine strategies for pregnant and young women.
