Annual health screening tests for women above 40
Women who are above 40 should undergo an health screening test every year ,which includes the following tests-
- Diabetes – Both fasting and PP-You should do this test and for women who are first-degree relative with diabetes, are overweight or have obesity, high blood pressure, prediabetes, or a history of heart disease must do this.
2. Blood pressure– If you have diabetes or any heart disease or are overweight or have certain other health conditions should check your blood pressure at least once in a year. Your blood pressure top number is from 120 to 129 mm Hg, or the bottom number is from 70 to 79 mm Hg. If this number is deranged then you should consult your doctor as soon as possible.
3. Cholesterol– To test cholesterol, blood is drawn from your body to check it.
4. Mammogram– This is done to check breast cancer risks in women. Women of ages 50 to 75 should do it in every 1 to 2 years, depending on their risk factors.
5. Cervical cancer– A test should be done to check this.
6. Colorectal cancer– For this, a stool based test should be done every year. If found any risk by your doctor, then he/ she may will suggest you to go for a colonoscopy to get a more clear picture.
7. Dental examination– Visit a dentist once or twice a year to evaluate about your oral health.
8. Eye check-up
9. Immunizations– Flu, tetanus and any other time appropriative preventive immunizations are must in correct time.
