World Stroke Day 2025 is an annual observation to spread awareness about the prevalent condition of stroke worldwide and its impact on an individual. This occasion is celebrated every year on October 29, and this year it will be celebrated under the theme “Every Minute Counts”.

What Is A Stroke?

Stroke is a medical condition in which a broken vessel or blood clot can prevent the smooth flow of blood to the brain. Healthcare providers sometimes call stroke a Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) or Brain Attack.

Symptoms Of Stroke

During a stroke, every second counts. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to save a life, it is crucial to notice or know the signs of stroke. Here are some common symptoms of stroke:

  • Unexpected numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg
  • Confusion, trouble speaking, or difficulty understanding speech
  • Vision problem in both eyes
  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance, or lack of coordination
  • Severe headache with no obvious cause
