Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling in the state parliament on Monday reported that during the past three years, 134,436 instances of malaria have been registered in Odisha.
Answering a query from Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud, Minister Mahaling provided the state’s malaria case breakdown for 2022–2024.
A total of 23,770 cases were reported in 2022, with five fatalities. According to preliminary data, there were 68,693 cases and 6 fatalities in 2024, up from 41,973 cases and 4 fatalities in 2023.
