Bhubaneswar, March 14, 2026: To mark World Kidney Day, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar has launched an innovative public awareness campaign titled “K&N Performance Review,” aimed at encouraging people to prioritize kidney health and undergo regular screening for early detection of kidney diseases.
The campaign was officially launched on March 12 at the hospital premises in Bhubaneswar, where visitors participated in an interactive session that helped them learn about kidney health while also checking their basic health parameters. The initiative focuses on shifting attention from treatment to prevention by helping people understand how well their kidneys are functioning and why timely screening is essential.
Adding a creative element to the campaign, the hospital introduced two mascots—Kid and Ney—who will visit high-footfall areas across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for a week to spread awareness about kidney health. The mascots will carry a QR code that visitors can scan to answer a few questions and find out whether their kidneys might be due for a “performance review.”

To encourage people to take action, the hospital has also introduced specially designed kidney screening packages for individuals who complete the Kidney Risk Assessment. The packages are available in Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels and aim to provide a comprehensive evaluation of kidney health. These screening packages will remain valid until March 31, 2026.
The initiative is being led by a multidisciplinary team of specialists including Dr. Manas Ranjan Pradhan, Senior Consultant – Urology; Dr. Subodh Das, Senior Consultant – Urology; Dr. Saiprasad Sahoo, Senior Consultant – Nephrology; and Dr. Sukanto Kishore Das, Senior Consultant – Nephrology.
Doctors at the hospital highlighted that many kidney diseases progress silently and are often detected only at an advanced stage. Through the “K&N Performance Review” campaign, the hospital aims to make kidney health easier for people to understand and track. By encouraging individuals to review their kidney performance indicators through regular screening and preventive care, the initiative hopes to help the community identify risks early and take proactive steps to protect their kidney health.
