India on Saturday (April 22) logged in 12,193 fresh Covid-19 cases, 501 more than the previous day, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The active case count, according to the ministry, is 67,556 with 1,386 active cases. At least 10,765 people have recovered, with the recovery rate at 98.97 percent.
The death toll has reached 5,31,300 with 42 new fatalities across the country. The highest number of deaths, as per the data, were recorded in Delhi, followed by Maharashtra, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh. According to the health ministry, the fatality rate stands at 1.19 per cent.
According to the ministry’s data, 2,20,66,37,581 doses of Covid vaccine have been administered so far under the nationwide inoculation drive, and 5,602 injections were administered in a single day.
