Apollo Hospitals Bhubaneswar celebrated World Organ Donation Day with two successful events on 13th August, Tuesday. The events were: a spirited Walkathon and an informative Scientific Session.

These events fostered awareness about the critical need for organ donation and brought together medical professionals, patients, and community members in a collective effort to save lives through organ transplantation.

Distinguished doctors from various specialties from Apollo Hospitals, Bhubaneswar participated in both events. The Urology department was well-represented by Dr. Samiran Das Adhikary, Dr. Kaliprasad Sathpathy, and Dr. Pratik Sahoo. In Nephrology, Dr. Purnachandra Kar and Dr. Kumar Abhijit Das actively engaged with attendees.

Neurology was represented by Dr. Subhranu Sekhar Jena, while Dr. Amit Chanduka led the Neuro- Surgery team. Dr. Madhusudan Modi, a prominent figure in Gastro Surgery, also contributed. The hospital’s leadership, including COO & DMS Dr. Alok Srivastava and Dr. Sriman Narayan Mishra were also present in supporting these events.

The Walkathon, symbolizing unity and community engagement, took place at 7:00 AM. Participants from Prativa Group of Institutes joined the walk, energizing everyone to promote organ donation.

Meanwhile, the Scientific Session, held from 12:30 PM provided valuable insights into organ donation. Fellow doctors, nursing staff, and patient attendants actively participated, strengthening our commitment to this noble cause.
