Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, arrived in New Delhi yesterday for his first official visit to India, aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector.
The Ministry of External Affairs welcomed the Afghan Health Minister and noted in a social media post that the visit underscores India’s continued support for Afghanistan’s healthcare system. India looks forward to productive discussions, further reaffirming its commitment to strengthening Afghanistan’s health infrastructure and providing ongoing support to the Afghan people.
Earlier this month, India delivered 63,734 doses of Influenza and Meningitis vaccines to Kabul. Additionally, on November 28, India sent 73 tonnes of life-saving medicines, vaccines, and essential supplements to Afghanistan to assist with the country’s healthcare needs.
This visit marks the third ministerial-level visit from Afghanistan to India. On November 20, Afghanistan’s Industry and Commerce Minister, Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, visited New Delhi for talks with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
