Students need to follow these basic simple tips during and prior to exams…
1. As a Parent we need to encourage the children ” Early to bed and Early to rise ” by supporting them with the home ambience. As children learn and adopt more by observing us. It helps in keeping them more active, fresh and healthy mentally and physically. Early to bed promotes their brain development, memory, focus by giving them deep relaxation.
2. Make them practice minimum 30 minutes if basic stretching, surya namaskara and joint mobilization with 10-15 minutes of deep breathing and meditation (dhyana).
3. Give them more of home cooked simple meals and freshly prepared meals like dal-rice, roti-sabji, Upma, poha, idli all typical breakfasts. Stale food should be avoided as it makes them more lethargic. Heavy and non-veg food should be moderated. Because our digestive system uses more energy to digest the Heavy food while we need more energy for studying and memorizing. The energy gets diverted more towards digestion.
4.Fruits and salads is a must as it’s summer and butter milk is a must, post exam or before afternoon naps. which keeps them hydrated as well as butter milk gives some soothing , relaxing deep sleep and maintain their gut health better.
5. Strictly avoid eating outside and junk food or in parties as there will be more chances of stomach infections and throat infections, cold, cough which leads to viral fever .
6.while going for exams send some lemon sarbat ( can add ginger, mint leaves, saffron, basil seeds, palm sugar instead of white refined sugar, khadi shakkr or misri (soaked whole night for more cooling effect)) this will keep them well hydrated and rejuvenated.
7. Children should practice chanting of any Sanskrit sloka (at least 21 to 108 tines) which improves their brain activity, memory, concentration and confidence in a better way. research has been said about the benefits of sloka chanting.
8. Special tips for girls for their period days . Allow the body to stretch and do some restorative yoga (like cat-camel stretch, Tadasana stretch, Balasana with pillow and some butterfly poses can relief from the menstrual pains and cramps.
9. Positive motivation and encouraging words and support from parents and family is a must during all the time what ever may be the outcomes.
10. Allow them to play outside in the noon at least for 30-40 minutes. It improves their sleep, mood and skills, growth and development but remember not to exhaust themselves which may leads to tiredness.
